Kamasutra maker to revive Marilyn Monroe in 3D

The makers of Kamasutra 3D are at the Cannes this year with a teaser of their next project, a mega venture, '36 MM 3D'. A biographical drama on the thread of a reincarnated Marilyn Monroe, the movie is an exhilarating journey into the life of the singer actress.

Naturally, the 'MM' in '36 MM 3D' stands for Marilyn Monroe. The movie is produced by Rupesh Paul Productions Limited. And, after auditioning more than 1200 actors from across the globe, the producer will announce the lead actress to play Marilyn Monroe at the Cannes. Reportedly, '36 MM 3D' is scheduled to be shot in Los Angeles from June 15.
The film was announced last year in the American Film Market, which is the second biggest film market in the US. Auditions for the film began last November and the main cast has already been finalised. However, no Bollywood name will star in the project.
Director- producer Rupesh Paul says, "The film chronicles the life of Marilyn Monroe. It will throw light on how she became a star and her life after she achieved success and fame. It is a flashback story and its trailer will be shown at Cannes."  A huge set for the film is being constructed in Universal Studios and the shooting will start in the first week of September this year, reveals an insider.
36 MM 3D would be directed by the same director of Kamasutra 3D, Rupesh Paul. The young director is a veteran filmmaker with movies like 'Saint Dracula 3D' 'Janthu' 'My Mother's Laptop' and 'The Painter and the Virgin'. In fact, Kamasutra 3D grabbed headlines with three Academy long- list nominations including best motion picture. It is widely speculated that the movie will be shot in Monocrome. If so, this would be the world's first monochromatic movie on 3D. The poster of '36 MM 3D' would also be unveiled at the Cannes. In Cannes!

With France threatening to annex Monaco and political turmoil erupting all around, Grace is at a crossroad: choose the life she thought she always wanted, or embrace the woman she has now become: Her Serene Highness, The Princess of Monaco.

With Nicole Kidman as Grace Kelly and Tim Roth as Prince Rainier, "Grace of Monaco" - which also features Frank Langella, Parker Posey, Jeanne Balibar, Derek Jacobi and Paz Vega, who plays Maria Callas - ensures a glitzy opening to Cannes!

Vir Das & Soha Ali Khan are couple in riots!

Oh no, we don't mean in real! We are referring to a forthcoming film, where Vir Das and Soha Ali Khan play couple.

Tentatively called as 'October 31', the film is said to revolve around this couple, who are Sikhs while the story is based on the Delhi riots of 1984. As the title denotes, the film apparently also highlights the infamous assassination of Indira Gandhi.

Being directed by the National Award winning filmmaker Shivaji Lotan Patil, the film has already started its shooting in Ludhiana and also go further into different locales of Punjab and Delhi to shoot important scenes.

Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi spoofs Godmen!

It may come as quite a surprise to many that producer Ekta Kapoor, known to be spiritual, will have her next film, "Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi", spoof the so-called Godmen in the country.

In the film, actor Brijendra Kala will be seen playing a 'Babaji' who gives absurd advice ranging from eating gulab jamuns everyday for prosperity to opting for red chutney instead of green chutney while eating samosas to improve chances of success. In one hilarious scene in the film, the Babaji also advises a devotee to consume beer everyday to increase his chances of getting a desired job.

Produced by Ekta Kapoor and Bejoy Nambiar and directed by Aman Sachdeva, 'Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi', a quirky slice-of-life comedy, releases on May 30.
